NOTES FROM THE MASTER
HELP!!
Brethren,
The need exists in two areas for your involvement. Please read and carefully consider helping in the following endeavors.
ARC Walks – Two ARC walks are coming up very soon: Salem County ARC Walk at Riverview Beach Park in Pennsville on June 13 and Gloucester County ARC Walk at Camp Sun & Fun in Williamstown on May 22. We need your help as a volunteer – if you plan to do so, please call or email me. I recently had the opportunity to visit Open House at the Salem County ARC and was very much impressed with the meaningful opportunities they provide for individuals with physical or mental disabilities. Let us, as Masons, resolve to help this organization in these difficult economic times. There are two main concerns this year:
· Loss of income: Reductions in money coming from the state government as well as reduced jobs from big business for the ARC consumers.
· Schedule conflict: The Grand Lodge Training Seminar for Wardens and Deacons is scheduled for the same day as the Gloucester County ARC Walk. We need brethren who are not attending that seminar to pitch in and replace the officers who usually go to the Walk.
Grounds Care (mowing and edging) – For the past couple years, it has been difficult for our members to care for the lodge grounds. In order to present a good image to the neighborhood, the Lodge voted to pay an outside organization to mow and edge the lawn this season. Although an unbeatable price was settled upon, this will take extra funds from the treasury. We are requesting that members please give a donation to offset this additional cost. Think of it as a donation in lieu of your following a mower around the block-long lawn that surrounds the Masonic Temple. Please send donations to the Lodge post office box or hand it to the Secretary, Treasurer or Worshipful Master.
Thank you, in advance, for your help in both of these matters.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Ronald D. Miller
Worshipful Master
